With today's rapidly expanding aging population, there is a tremendous need for additional construction of senior communities, assisted living facilities, and related types of living. 1Yet home is truly where the heart is. According to an AARP survey, 89% of seniors wish to age in their own homes for as long as possible. 2When physical limitations make this impossible, residential assisted living settings can present a more family-friendly alternative. With their higher levels staff per resident ratios, individualized and personalized care, it comes as no surprise that these types of homes are rapidly replacing the standard institutional skilled nursing home for physically and mentally challenged people.
